Join us on September 11th, 2010 at McAlpine Creek Park for the Camp CARE 5K Walk/Run.
This family friendly event takes you through the beautiful trails of McAlpine Creek Greenway. Come for the great community unity and atmosphere…..Stay for lunch! Hot off the grill hotdogs and homemade chili await you after the race.
Whether you are a serious runner or looking for an excuse to walk with the kids, come out to support a great cause. We'll start promptly at 9 a.m. for the 3.1 mile run/walk. Packet pick up begins at 7:00 a.m. Parking will be on site.
The philosophy of Camp CARE from the beginning has been that a child with cancer is, first of all, a child. Camp CARE is committed to providing a camp, and other year round activities for children, ages 3-17, who have or have had cancer, and their families in the Charlotte-Metrolina area.
Camp CARE provides about 150 campers a year with the opportunity to get away from the realities of living with cancer. The camp is staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donations.
Join other Charlotte walkers and runners in helping raise funds for such a great organization!
